Minnetonka

After the Badlands, we decided to try and make up some time and drive
all the way to Lodi, Wisconsin. It was past midnight by the time we
made it out of South Dakota. Conveniently, we drove through Minnetonka
in the dark night, further proving that the state of Minnesota simply
doesn't exist as Kevin was sleeping and I certainly didn't see
anything. Thankfully, we crossed into Wisconsin just as the sun was
rising. Minnetonka is a company that makes moccasins silly!

It's Hot!

Wall Drug, Wall, SD

I read an article published in 1998 that they were racking in $10
million a year. For a small pharmacy that got it's start by
advertising free ice cold water, that's pretty amazing. The signs are
a nice touch.

Wallcome

Maybe this is where they got the idea for Wellcome.

Wall Drug Sign

We started seeing signs back in Wyoming.

Mountain Goat

All approx 200 mountain goats in the Black Hills area spawned from a
gift of 6 goats from Canada that escaped from their pen years ago.

Mount Rushmore

Sturgis Bike Rally 2008

As we approached Deadwood, we were overwhelmed by bikers. Looks like
it's the annual bike week rally in Sturgis, a nearby town. I have
never seen this many bikers.

Deadwood, SD

Super cute western town. Normal looking storefronts hide bustling
casinos with slot machines and poker tables. Saloon #10 marks the
spot where Wild Bill Hickok was shot holding black aces and eights,
hence the name 'dead man's hand'. He and Calamity Jane are buried side
by side in the town cemetery.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Sundance, WY

Happy Moosters

On the way to SD.

Buffalo, WY

We must be on the pop vs soda border.

962 miles

Here's how far we drove yesterday. And this is point to point not
including side detours to Mt Rushmore and the Badlands. San is tired.
Good night.

Branding

Interesting cow branding on the ceiling.

Hustler

Kevin won.

The Bar

We had to wait 30 min for our table so we sat at the bar. All cowboys
and cowgirls, not a minority in sight (except me, of course).
Interestingly, I didn't feel too out of place. They probably get a lot
of tourists.

Grand Teton Breaing Co.

Decent wheat beer from a local-ish brewery. Victor, ID

Cassie's Wine List

There are some truths in the world that are inescapable no matter
where you are.

Tourist Trap?

Not sure if it's just naturally Wyoming cheesey.

Cassie's

Kevin wanted an authentic Wyoming steak (we are in beef country) so he
picked Cassie's. They have a drive through liquor!

Rodeo Capital of the World

Shows nightly!

Cody, WY

Buffalo Bill State Park

No beer.

Blogger

Sorry for the lack of posts. Blogger was mistaking my emails (posts)
for spam and the places we were driving through had limited cell
coverage nevermind even Edge network. I haven't seen 3G since Salt
Lake City.

Anyway, we're back online and in Lodi, WI now. Last night was an all-
nighter from Wyoming to South Dakota through somewhere dark and into
Wisconsin. I'm sleepy.
