Smoke Everywhere

We could see glimpsies of leaping orange flames and timbers. Nothing
too close to the highway though. Lots of firefighters and park rangers.

Another Helicopter

There were at least four helicopters.

Leaving Yellowstone

Yellowstone National Park is really amazing. With geysers, mudpots, a
canyon, waterfalls, huge mountains, rolling prairies, lakes and
abundant wildlife, it's a great place to visit! We wish we had more
time! Next time!

Old and New

Another example of old dead trees and new life sprouting underneath.

Great Fountain Geyser

We took a small detour and drove north on Firehole Drive where we
encountered Great Fountain Geyser. It erupts once every 12 hours or so
and was scheduled to erupt in 10-40 minutes. We decided to stick
around for the 100-200 ft eruptions.

Continental Divide

We've passed a few of these Continental Divide signs. Water that falls
east of the sign eventually drains into the Atlantic, west of the sign
into the Pacific. How they know the exact spot? Not sure.
Need to ask Wikipedia when I'm back in cell range.

Baby Trees

A clearer shot of the baby trees.

Fire

A little bit about the intensity of the fire which jumped over roads
and natural canyons and rivers.
