Welcome to the Johnson School

How time flys. Today is already the second day of orientation. Kevin's
original flight back to SF was cancelled so we had one extra day
together. It's going to be an interesting two years.

With this post, I'm concluding the blog. Thanks to all of you who
followed along and supported me through this adventure. I'll see around!

Check Mate!

Bar at George's

Best salad bar I think I've ever had. Pretty good prime rib as well.
Recommended!

A pretty comfortable ride actually.

Home sweet home. For the next two years anyway.

Montreal - Nickels

We got into Montreal around midnight and drove around McGill
University. Nickels had some late night dining.

Pacific Heritage Mall

I was so excited being inside a Chinese mall that I forgot to take
pictures. It started to pour as we left Toronto for Montreal.

Royal Ontario Museum

Unfortunately, we didn't have time to go inside.

Other Shoe Museum Patrons

Not all women!

Garry Greenwood Leather Boot

3000 Year Old Egyptian Shoes

Made of palm leaves and grass. Looks like a Bottega weave!

1700s Italian Silk Shoes

Very Rare Old Platform Shoes

Perfect Chanel Flats

Mikhail Baryshnikov Ballet Shoes

Ginger Spice Shoes

Giant Cowboy Boot

Whoa.

Plastic Shoes

Polly Pocket (top) and Barbie and Ken shoes (bottom).

Killer Shoes

Used for old boyfriends and bad investment bankers.

Original use was for crushing chestnuts. The crushed chestnut shells
would release oils that soften leather.

Tall Platform Shoes

High Heels

High heels were worn by both men and women.

The Bata Shoe Museum

TTC

Toronto subway

Look at the donut selection!

Tim Hortons

We were told to try Tim Hortons, a sort of institution in these parts.

Hotdogs

There are hotdog stands at every corner (not exaggerating).

The Sound of Music

Coming soon to the Princess of Wales Theater! I loved Salzburg.
Definitely a city I would visit again.

King St.

Like Avenue of the Stars, I suppose.

CN Tower

Toronto

We arrived in Toronto just before 2am. Priceline was kind and offered
up Le Meridien Royal King Edward. This is the view from our room. The
room was no Little America but it was just fine.
